Willison House, Dundee

This distinctive Art Deco, Category B listed building — Willison House — dates back to 1934.

The project began with a strategic commercial appraisal, exploring the building’s adaptation into high-end student accommodation while retaining the original façade and delivering highly efficient living quarters.

The design concept draws inspiration from the digital and gaming heritage associated with Dundee’s academic landscape, referencing iconic early-1980s pop culture. Bold, playful aesthetics are carefully balanced with the building’s historic character, creating a contemporary interpretation that respects its architectural significance while appealing to a new generation of residents.
